London, the leader in cosmopolitan music industry, has announced Clint Lee as the new edition to the team. In an exclusive interview with the voices of music and Clint Lee, he quoted :

"It all started when I achieved 1st place in my county for a martial arts tournament & decided to hit the town and celebrate, here is when I discovered club culture. Being blown away by this emerging sound of house music in the mid nineties, I decided to trash the black belt & save up and buy myself the ultimate wheels of steel, a pair of Technics 1200’s. Here I scoped out different sounds but developed an ear for house, trance, tribal rhythms and anything that was electronic sounding. Being brought up in a musical family I was exposed to much of everything, but took a fine liking to the 80’s electronica wave and use to borrow our garden boy’s cassette tapes which was very African based with loads of percussion and tribal rhythms(kwaito). So I developed with much determination & decided to share my sound with the east coast town of South Africa, Durban. After numerous successful gigs at South Africa’s top clubs and achieving a top position amongst South Africa’s finest DJs in the ‘Battle Zone DJ’ Competition In August 2001, I relocated to London to get a taste of the international market by guesting my way up the ladder to be involved with London's top events. seven years later I'm on the path to doing what I love most, I see an interesting future up ahead in 2008 being a year of my own productions and live performances. I plan on taking these shows outside the U.K into Europe and a few other designated countries."

His early days in 2001, he started himself on Pyrotechnic Radio where he regularly  use to broadcast his sound and be in touch with the world and there on established himself with:
SMARTIE PARTIE (The Glasshouse, London) where he established a residency and was asked to spend a summer in Mallorca being resident for Smartie Partie (Mallorca, Spain) After coming back from the island he started working with Mike Monday & Nick Hook for a night called LOOSE at RETOX BAR(London)

After gaining some experience Clint Lee joined forces with Shane Watcha with the well established Filthy Promotions.
From here on Clint Lee Played alongside the likes of Laurent Garnier, Francois K,  Felix the Housecat & Dj Sneak to name but a few.
Clint Lee's response to how he deals with the pressures of a highly enigmatic position is well thought out,"My role is varied.  Essentially, I ensure the crowd enjoy a unique and ear pleasing experience.  From coaxing the dance floor shy, entertaining the partygoers, enlightening the curious, satisfying the whims of the tired and weary, whilst constantly monitoring the energy levels of the crowd at all times"

So what can we expect in the next couple months? Anything up your wicked sleeve?
“Still being involved with Filthy, I have a new vision, Perfuckt! This is an organization of like minded individuals who all share the same ear for quality underground music with a simple concept: Supplying the sound of tomorrow for the kids of today. The vibe is nothing short of pure hedonistic outrageous fun where individualism is a must. Be creative, Be yourself and just let go!” Join the Perfuckt Revolution!
Where does the name Perfuckt! Initially come from? “Shall I through you the definition then? It’s simply a magnificent display of wrong. Be it our disturbing behavior or lust for sound we behave appropriately.
Perfuckt! Will be at the reign of many upcoming events such as Glitch! & our new addition Disko Sputnik! Coming soon to a club near you!

ABSTRACT
Monthly residency alongside Timo Garcia (Berwick Street)/ Ricky Stone / Mateo Esse / Ketaloco among other interesting acts.

We managed to squeeze in a few questions before we ended our interview.

Who has been your inspiration through your musical journey?
“That is a long list which I don’t have time for  but a few do come to mind Depeche Mode / Future Sound Of London/ Orb / Orbital, to more abstract sounds like Boards Of Canada /Orchestra Of Bubbles / Everything But The Girl to more recent artists like Luciano / Villalobos / Damian Lazarus / Henrik Schwarz / Martin Buttrich / Solomon.

Where in the world should we be right now?
Erm….Circoloco has been my choice for quite some time now,  where else but DC10 second to that Cocoon with Sven Vath at the controls with Richie Hawtin & Ricardo villalobos.  Oh of course a Perfuckt event!! Where else? Anywhere with a beach and a sound system playing that tune!

As far as production goes, what labels & producers grab you at the moment?
“Well I tend to support a number of producers and labels such as Connoisseur / Minus / Plus 8 / CMYK / Get Physical /Steve Bug’s Pokerflat / Treibstoff / Cadenza / Trapez / Ovum / Mobilee / Platzhirsh / Cocoon / Tsuba / Liebe Detail / Crosstown Rebels Wagon Repair / Freak n Chic / Kompakt / Border Community.”

So who is hot property at the moment?
“Luciano & Ricardo Villalobos are firm favorites as they unconditionally deliver and produce an earthly sound through techno in a cool, calm & natural manner. Ritchie Hawtin & James Zabiela for their incredible technicality, Mathew Dear (Audion) stretches boundaries that are not ventured by many artists of today.
I’m also taking a liking to Sebastian Roya / Anthony Collins / Jamie Jones / Alex Under / Gabriel Ananda / Radio Slave / Ripperton / Henrik Schwarz / Dan Berkson & James What / Rob Mello / Pier Bucci to name a few…”

With all this new technology available to us and going into the digital era where do you see yourself in the near future?
“I’m really looking forward to the future as Djing has hit a whole new level, At the moment my sets are still pretty much ‘old fashioned’ where I use vinyl, cd’s & Efx units. In the forthcoming months I’ll be switching to Serato / Scracth where my music bank will mainly be stored on a laptop but played through vinyl & cd simulation, I still have a lust for vinyl and the ‘real thing’ so I will not be abandoning vinyl just yet. Furthering myself, I’ll be moving on to Ableton soon so I can perform my live sets.

With so many genres’ floating about we only had to ask Clint what sound does he follow and present to the many that flock each and every week to his events.
“Well, I don’t like to segregate genre’s as this is the formula for limiting yourself as to what to play, I like to incorporate many sounds, from juggling techno beats, adding my mind bending minimal, throwing over accapella’s & sound fx to create an overall cinematic experience with the use of efx units and samplers I’m able to twist and turn the music from its original shape & size.
I’m frequently inspired by images of landscapes & architectural forms. With an African history my sets come out in an organic way, producing dynamic fields which range from subtle beats and gentle bass lines creating unity & ambience then suddenly realizing the pressure and creating intensity by juggling beats flawlessly and throwing the listener somewhere where they have not gone before, well this is what I try to incorporate anyways...”

Clint’s career to date is flooded with residencies and is recognized for his consistently superior skills both at Djing and Promotion.  This is further reflected in his drive to expand his experience and passion abroad and this summer breaking Europe plans to break into the DJ market globally.  Although presently settled in London will fast become a worldwide newest club investment.

Clint ended the interview by summing up the ethos of Music. I am Music. I represent every facet of the Music!
